Dayboat on 41-16 Queens Boulevard

Dayboat, the seafood restaurant on Queens Boulevard specializing in ceviche, has closed.
Three neighboring businesses confirmed that the restaurant at 41-16 Queens Boulevard has been closed for a couple of weeks, with one business owner saying that Robert Mendoza, the owner of Dayboat, last spoke to them about a month ago about negotiating the sale of the restaurant.
The restaurant’s page on Google Reviews also bears the “permanently closed” designation.
Calls to the restaurant’s two telephone numbers do not go through, and the owner of the property could not be reached for comment.
A Craigslist ad posted in late June indicated that the restaurant was “priced for a quick sale” by the owner, who also included that all restaurant equipment would stay in place in the sale.
Dayboat opened in December 2016 and served a variety of seafood dishes that combined preparation techniques from a mix of cultures and countries. The restaurant was best known for its ceviche—raw fish cut and marinated with citrus, fish dashi, onions, and celery.
Dayboat used to be the site of the acclaimed Salt & Fat, which closed in October 2016.
