A man robbed an Astoria Citibank yesterday after threatening employees with a gun, according to police.
The incident took place at around 9 a.m. on Aug. 24, when the suspect entered the Citibank at 25-91 Steinway Street, jumped over the service counter and security glass, and demanded that employees give him cash, police said. After the employees gave him an undetermined amount of money, the suspect fled south on Steinway Street and headed eastbound on 28th Avenue.
Although the robber told the employees that he was carrying a gun, police do not know if he had a gun on him at the scene.
No one was injured at the scene, police say.
The NYPD has released a photo of the suspect, who is described as White or Hispanic, 5’7”, and 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater, dark colored pants, and a black bandana across his face.
