Police are looking for a duo in Astoria and Long Island City who used a disguised phone number so they could call in order for food deliveries and then rob the delivery man when he arrived.
According to police, on July 6 at 11:19 p.m., a 38-year-old man was making a food delivery at 33-21 13th St. in Astoria. While outside the address, an unknown man approached the man from behind and choked him. During this time, another unknown man stole $2,000 from the victim’s pocket and fled the scene.
Almost two weeks later, at 11:30 p.m. on July 18, a 51-year-old man was making a food delivery at 11-52 30th Rd. in Astoria. When he arrived, a suspect came up from behind the man, choked him and stole his iPhone and $150 before fleeing.
The third incident took place on Aug. 3. At 9:34 that evening a 46-year-old man was making a food delivery at 38-59 9th St. in Long Island City. While standing outside of the residence, one suspect approached the man from behind and choked him while the second suspect took $400 and 2 credit cards from the victim’s pockets before fleeing the scene.
