A taxi driver was robbed at knife point Thursday night by a passenger he picked up near the Crescent Grill restaurant in Long Island City, according to police.
The driver picked up the suspect in front of front of 38-40 Crescent Avenue and drove him to 37 Street and 34 Avenue.
The passenger displayed a knife, demanded money and took $50.00 from the cabbie, police said.
The suspect then departed in an unknown direction. No injuries were sustained as a result of this incident.
The individual is described as a male mid-eastern, 40 to 45 years old, 5′.9′, and 140lbs.
