Two armed men donning wigs robbed a string of gas stations in the early hours Sunday, police said.
The first robbery took place at the BP Gas Station at 59-36 Maurice Avenue in Maspeth at about 1:30 am on Sept. 24, when the men displayed a small gun to an employee and were able to make off with $500 in cash, according to police.
Then at 2:00 a.m., the men went inside a Mobile Gas Station at 69-08 Eliot Avenue in Middle Village. They showed an employee their gun and took off with $1,000 in cash.
At 5:20 a.m., they entered a Shell Gas Station at 92-10 Astoria Boulevard in Jackson Heights. They displayed a gun and seized $1,000 cash.
The police described one of the men as black. He was wearing a white long sleeve shirt, blue jeans, red sneakers and a short black wig with brown bangs.
The other suspect is also black. He was wearing a white Lacoste baseball hat, a blue long sleeve shirt, blue shorts, black sneakers and a long red and black wig.
