Anyone in Bayside in the mood for Drunken fried pickles, Reuben egg rolls, or perhaps a decadent skillet mac n’ cheese?

You can find these and other savory items on the menu at the neighborhood’s newest beer garden and restaurant, One Station Plaza. Adjacent to the Bayside-LIRR station at 213-10 41st Ave., the eatery celebrated its grand opening on Sept. 13; a soft open was held on July 12.

Restaurant owners and Queens natives John Ryan and Mark Boccia began their careers in the food industry at the space in the 1980s, when it was called One Station Plaza. The duo, who also own Bell Boulevard’s Bourbon Street and Kew Gardens’ Austin Ale House, wanted to bring some unique twists on comfort food to the eatery’s menu.

“The menu’s been a great success,” Ryan said. “It’s comfort-style — and we’re finding that’s what Bayside really wants.”

Appetizers include fried avocado chips, BBQ short rib sliders and a Hudson Valley Charcuterie, featuring a selection of local cured meats, cheeses and jams.

On the entree menu is a selection of burgers, salads, pastas, steaks and fish dishes. The 16 oz. Ribeye, Shepard’s Pie with Guinness-braised short rib and roasted beet salad were among Ryan’s favorites.

At the bar, customers can find a diverse selection of wine, beer, cocktails and a line of signature drinks.

The restaurant’s complete space features an outdoor circular bar (featuring a large illuminated umbrella for inclement weather), an indoor bar and indoor and outdoor dining areas. The kitchen is serving lunch and dinner seven days a week, and brunch on Sundays.

“We really just want to thank the community for supporting us,” Boccia said.

Queens Borough President Melinda Katz, Councilman Paul Vallone and Assemblyman Edward Braunstein were in attendance to help the owners cut a ribbon on the new space.

Katz commended the Queens-natives for always keeping it local and their dedication to bringing jobs and quality service to the borough.

“This is what Queens is all about,” Katz said.
