A pedestrian was struck by a car in Long Island City on Aug. 27th and died two days later from her injuries, the police announced today.
The female victim was crossing 21 Street –at 40 Avenue– at about 10 pm when she was struck by a driver of a 2011 Ford Escape who was driving south on 21st Street in the left lane, the police said.
The pedestrian, who has yet to be identified, went over the hood and hit the windshield before landing on the road, according to police. The victim, believed to about 35-years old, was taken by EMS to New York Presbyterian-Cornell Medical Center and died on August 29.
The driver of the car, a 25-year-old female, remained on the scene.
There have been no arrests. The investigation is ongoing.
