Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who broke into two Astoria apartments and stole thousands of dollars’ worth of jewelry, electronics and other items.
On Oct. 12, at about 8:30 a.m. the suspect entered an apartment at 33rd Avenue and 29th Street through a closed, unlocked window. According to police, he stole $900 worth of jewelry, $600 worth of luxury handbags and an Amazon Kindle before fleeing the apartment.
On Oct. 17, the suspect entered an apartment at 28th Avenue and 34th Street at approximately 10:11 a.m. through a closed, unlocked window. He stole $1,000 worth of electronics before leaving, police said.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 175 pounds and 5 feet, 8 inches. He was last seen wearing black boots, a black coat and a black hat.
