The Halloween kids parade in Middle Village — a first of what seems like a new tradition in the making — stretched from one end of Juniper Valley Park to the other.

The crowd for the march — sponsored by the Juniper Park Civic Association — topped 300 people.

For the little princesses, pirates and super heroes, the eight-block walk up the park’s long hill may have felt like a never-ending trek. But at the end, on the park’s black-topped basketball courts, a carnival of bouncy houses, candy giveaways and a pumpkin patch was there waiting.
