The NYPD is on the lookout for a man who exposed himself at least eight times to several underage girls in three Queens neighborhoods, including Woodside.
The incidents range between May and November, where a man described as white or white-Hispanic in his 20s approached victims between the ages of 11 and 15 in Woodside, Ridgewood, and Maspeth, and exposed his penis to them, according to police.
The man’s tactics include approaching the underage girls and asking them for a piece of paper before exposing his groin. He then flees the scene on his bike. Other methods include making a statement to get the victim’s attention and exposing his penis to them once they turn, police said.
In the first two incidents, both recorded on May 11, the man approached a 13-year-old victim near 48th Street and Laurel Hill Boulevard at around 7:24 a.m. and exposed his penis to her after asking for a piece of paper, according to police. Nearly an hour later, one block away from Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood, the man employed the same tactic on a 14-year-old girl. Both victims were not physically injured, police said.
Two more incidents involving the man asking for a piece of paper and fleeing on his bike after showing his penis are recorded—an incident near Ridgewood’s Evergreen Park on the afternoon of Sept. 20, where the victim was a 15-year-old, and another one block away from Ridgewood’s I.S. 77 on the afternoon of Oct. 2, where the victim was a 12-year-old, according to police.
In the four other incidents, taking place on May 30, June 2, Oct. 17, and two on Nov. 2, the man exposed his penis to a 13-year-old, a 14-year-old, a 12-year-old, an 11-year-old, and a 12 and 13-year-old, respectively, after making statements to get their attention, police said. He then fled on his bike. None of the underage girls were physically hurt, according to police.
Police have released surveillance photo and video of the suspect. The photo is from a May 30 incident near 51st Ave and 72nd Place in Woodside. The video first shows a clip from an Oct. 2 incident, and another clip from an Oct. 17 incident, both in Ridgewood.
The man is also described with a height of 5’10”. He wears a jacket with white stripes on the sleeves and shoulders, and rides a bicycle with classic drop-style handlebars, according to police.
