NYPD: Man Shot at His Astoria Home by Two Suspects Claiming to be UPS Workers

Two men posing as UPS deliverymen shot an Astoria resident after he answered the front door of his home on Thursday morning, police say.

The two men knocked on the door of a home on 24th Street at around 10:04 a.m. and said they were delivering a package. When the victim, a 53-year-old man, opened the door as struggled ensued and one of the men shot him in the leg.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, where he is in stable condition.

The attackers are described as a black man and a Hispanic man.

The police investigation is continuing.
