Straphanger robbed aboard N train last month: NYPD

ASTORIA — An N train rider in Astoria discovered his cell phones and wallet were missing last month, police said.

The 21-year-old man was heading northbound at the Ditmars Avenue/Astoria Street subway station Nov. 23 at 4 a.m. when he realized he had been robbed and alerted the NYPD.

During an investigation, police determined the victim’s credit card was used at a McDonald’s located at 1133 Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn later that same morning, according to the NYPD. The victim’s phones were valued at $1,990, police said.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 20s, last seen wearing a gray hooded jacket and blue jeans. Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
