A Long Island City gas station was robbed last week in a crime pattern linked to one man, police say.
The Long Island City robbery happened just before 5 a.m. on Jan. 17, when a man went inside the Mobil gas station at 35-15 Greenpoint Ave. and demanded the 49-year-old employee at the site to give him money from the register, according to police.

Surveillance video from inside the gas station shows the suspect grabbing handfuls of cash from an open register as the employee stands next to it.
The man then fled on foot with about $1,000, police said. No injuries were reported after the incident.
The second incident happened the next day also just before 5 a.m. at a gas station in Jamaica, Queens, where the same man left with $300, police said.
Police describe the suspect as black and between 30 to 40 years of age. He is approximately 5’8” tall, weighs 200 lbs., and was last seen wearing all black clothing.
