Residents at the Woodside Houses were left without heat and hot water beginning this morning as heavy snow and winds were ravaging the city.

The New York City Housing Authority’s website showed heat and hot water outages through the entire 1,350 apartment-development at 50-51 Broadway just after 3:30 p.m. Some heat, however, has been partially restored.
“There is low heat at Woodside, but as soon as National Grid completes their repairs we will be able to restore full heat for the entire development,” said Jasmine Blake, acting press secretary for NYCHA.
The two outages occurred at around 11 a.m. today., Blake said, as the housing agency set up an incident command center to manage the winter storm.
“We expect full restoration in a couple hours,” she added.
Both Councilmember Jimmy Van Bramer (D-Woodside) and Mayor Bill de Blasio visited the Woodside Houses earlier today.

NYCHA added that it has dispatched roving teams throughout the city to address outages.
