A Ridgewood family is mourning the loss of a 13-year-old boy who was killed while riding his bike in Brooklyn on Friday afternoon.

Law enforcement sources said Kevin Flores, 13, of Seneca Avenue was riding his bike at the corner of Lewis and Jefferson avenues in Bedford-Stuyvesant at 5:48 p.m. on Jan. 26.

As Flores attempted to turn at the intersection, police said, he was hit by a 2000 Mack oil truck traveling northbound on Lewis Avenue. The truck’s driver — Philip Monfoletto, 28, of Deer Park, NY — stopped the rig and remained at the scene.

Officers from the 81st Precinct and EMS units responded to a 911 call about the collision. Paramedics rushed Flores to Interfaith Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Following an preliminary investigation, Monfoletto was arrested on charges of aggravated unlicensed operator. The New York Daily News reported that he has three prior arrests, including a July 2017 assault arrest for allegedly stabbing an individual in the arm.

Additional charges are pending the results of the ongoing investigation.
