NYPD: Teenager Beaten and Robbed at Astoria High School Sunday

Police are searching for a man who allegedly followed a teenager into an Astoria high school on Sunday, before punching him repeatedly in the head and stealing his cellphone.

The victim, an 18-year-old male, walked into a building at St. John’s Preparatory High School–located at 21-21 Crescent St.–at around 6:40 p.m. The suspect allegedly followed him into an elevator and punched him several times in the head, police said. The man then grabbed the teenager’s phone and ran off.

The victim, who was left swollen and bruised from the attack, was treated for his injuries at Mt. Sinai Hospital and subsequently released.

The suspect is described as black, in his 20s and about 6 feet tall and 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket and blue jeans.
