Longtime Astoria event venue Riccardo’s by the Bridge reopened two days after being temporarily closed by the Health Department.

The venue, located at 21-01 24th Ave., was closed on April 3 after the health inspector gave it 43 sanitary violations points. Riccardo’s was permitted to reopen after it passed an inspection on April 5.

Owner Anthony Corbisiero declined to speak to the Astoria Post in an interview but released a letter along with his brother, Mark Carbisiero, thanking his customers for their support.

“We regret this stumble tremendously, and we want to assure our customers and friends that this event has reminded us that vigilance is required to maintain our exceptional track record of cleanliness and high standards,” the Corbisieros wrote.

The letter said that the venue has received “A” ratings for “ten years running,” including a “Straight A” rating after an unannounced inspector’s visit last November.
