A neighborhood Chinese take-out spot has been temporarily shut down by the health department.

New Szechuan House, located at 50-08 Skillman Ave., is closed after an April 24 Department of Health inspection that revealed several critical sanitary violations.

Among the violations are evidence of mice or live mice present in the eatery’s food or non-food areas, inadequate personal cleanliness, and raw, cooked or prepared food either being contaminated or not discard properly.

The locale offers typical Chinese take-out fare, including soups, fried rice varieties, and platters.

Full list of violations:

1) Raw, cooked or prepared food is adulterated, contaminated, cross-contaminated, or not discarded in accordance with HACCP plan.
2) Evidence of mice or live mice present in facility’s food and/or non-food areas.
3) Personal cleanliness inadequate. Outer garment soiled with possible contaminant. Effective hair restraint not worn in an area where food is prepared.
4) Facility not vermin proof. Harborage or conditions conducive to attracting vermin to the premises and/or allowing vermin to exist.
