The popular Astoria-based SingleCut Beersmiths is expanding operations, with a recently purchased plant in upstate New York.
The brewery announced its purchase of a 20,000 square foot facility in Clifton Park in late May. The facility, now called SingleCut North, was once owned by Shmaltz Brewing Company.
“This will provide a significantly larger stage, a production facility of much greater scale than our current, and a whole new slice of New York State to call home,” SingleCut said.
The SingleCut North location will brew IPA staples like 18-Watt , Softly Spoken Magic Spells, Kim Hibiscus Sour Lager, Weird & Gilly, and more.
In turn, the 5,000 square foot Astoria brewery at 19-33 37th St. will continue business as usual, but will now have room to brew more experimental IPAs and other new beers, SingleCut said.

SingleCut began brewing at the new location in late May, and released its first brewed beer earlier this month, according to reports.
Shmaltz Brewing however, will maintain its tasting room and retail space at the Clifton Park until late 2018. SingleCut will do an overhaul to the taproom soon after, with plans to open by late spring 2019.
The Astoria brewery was founded by Rich Buceta in 2012, and distributes its beers throughout the North East and Mid-Atlantic.
