Plans have been filed for a six-story building at the current site of a two-story home on 44th Street.
The permits, filed yesterday, call for a 70 foot building with 11 units at 41-26 44th St. in a project spanning 10,000 square feet.
The new building permits follow demolition permits filed for the location early last month. The site currently has a 30 foot building with a total of two dwelling units.
The six-story building will also be next to a nine-story, 17-unit building that was completed three years ago and shares a similar path to the new development. The nine-story building had also once been the site of a two-story house.
The development site is owned by Charlie and Stella Chen, who purchased the property last year for $1.5 million.
The owners did not immediately respond to questions on the development’s timeline.
