City Comptroller Scott Stringer will be in Long Island City next month for a town hall in partnership with several area representatives.
The town hall will be held on Oct. 15 at the CUNY School of Law, located at 2 Court Square, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
The event is part of a series of town halls Stringer’s office periodically holds around the five boroughs, and are aimed at providing a space for locals to discuss issues in the community.
“Tell us what’s on your mind at out next town hall,” Stringer wrote on Facebook. “You can help improve New York City and learn what the Comptroller’s Office can do for you.”
Partnering organizations at the town hall include LaGuardia Community College, the Court Square Civic Association, the Gantry Parent Association, Queensbridge Tenant Association, and Woodside on the Move, among many more.
Elected officials joining the town hall include Congressmember Carolyn Maloney, Assemblymember Catherine Nolan, and Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer.
The Long Island City event follows a town hall set for the first week of October in Astoria, organized by City Council Speaker Corey Johnson and Council Member Costa Constantinides.
The Comptroller’s town hall also comes at the heels of a set of public hearings, organized by the office, on lead exposure in public housing and the city’s handling of the issue.
