Police are searching for two young men who they say assaulted a 64-year-old driver near Queens Boulevard last month, leaving him with a serious head injury.
The 64-year-old was stopped in his car near the intersection of 43rd Street and Queens Boulevard just before 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 2, when he got into an argument with the two men who were crossing the street at the time.
The dispute escalated, police say, where one of the men punched the driver in the face through his opened car window. The two men then fled on foot eastbound on Queens Boulevard.
The 64-year-old refused medical attention at the scene. But on Oct. 16, he went to New York Presbyterian hospital, where he was shown to have a serious head injury as a result of the assault, police say.
He is now in serious but stable condition.
The suspects are both in their late teens to early 20s. One of the suspects is described as black, and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black jacket and blue jeans. The other suspect is described as Hispanic, and was last seen wearing a blue hooded jacket, blue pants and white sneakers.
