The importers responsible for many of the speciality cheeses sold at Long Island City grocery stores, Forever Cheese, is giving a new look to its in-house brand.

Mitica, Forever Cheese’s in-house line of selected products, will be arriving in stores in newly designed packaging in honor of its 20-year anniversary.

The company, located at 36-36 33rd St. in Long Island City, imports cheese, nuts, chocolate, olive oil and other specialty food items from Italy, Portugal, Croatia and Spain. It then distributes these items to local stores like Astoria Bier, Cheese Food Cellar, Green Bay Marketplace and Sorriso Fine Foods. Mitica is a collection of few of these products chosen by Forever Cheese to represent the company in stores.

“As an importer, we’re kind of behind the scenes,” said Chelsea Bryant a representative of Forever Cheese. The line is meant to shine a light on the care that Forever Cheese takes in selecting items to be sold in stores.

“Our new logo brings us into the future with a fun, modern aesthetic that’s sophisticated yet unconventional – just like us,” said co-owner Michele Buster in a press release. ” Though our look is different, our products remain the same: unique, enthralling, and expertly curated.”

Although the company does not have an exact date when the products will be distributed with the new logo, they say it will be some time this month.
