Police have arrested the man wanted for raping a 20-year-old woman on Skillman Avenue, near P.S. 11, on Friday night.
Matthew Luna, 27, of 35th Street in Long Island City, was arrested Monday night on charges of rape, stalking, criminal sex act and assault, police said.
Luna, according to police sources, turned himself in.
Police say that Luna followed the victim in the vicinity of 54th Street and Skillman Avenue at around 10:40 p.m. Friday, before striking up a conversation with her. He then threw the woman against a car and then raped her, police said.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where she was treated and released.
Police released video of him yesterday, including a clear image of him getting on the Q32 bus after the rape.
