The Victoria’s Secret store on Steinway Street has closed.
A sign in the window reads: “This Location of Victoria’s Secret Has Permanently Closed. Please Visit Our Other Victoria’s Secret Stores.”
The 31-35 Steinway St. location was one of four Victoria’s Secret stores in Queens. The other three—located in Forest Hills, Bayside and at the Queens Center Mall—remain open.
L Brands, the owner of the lingerie chain, announced last month that it would be closing 53 of its 1,000 North American stores due to declining sales. The company did not identify those stores at the time.
Analysts say that competition from lingerie startups and big retailers has taken a toll on profits.
The company has yet to respond for comment.
