Police are searching for a man who robbed his so-called friend and threatened him with a glass microwave plate at the Woodside Motel about two weeks ago.
The victim, 29, and the suspect allegedly traveled together from a friend’s house to the motel, located at 65-09 Queens Boulevard, around 3:50 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27.
Police say once the two were inside the room, the suspect grabbed the glass microwave plate in the room, threatened the victim with physical harm, and demanded $600.
The suspect, after being told by the victim he did not have the money, allegedly became enraged and stole the victim’s cell phone, debit card and checkbook.
The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction, leaving the victim uninjured, according to police.
The suspect is described by police as black, medium build, and about 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a red bandana, black jacket and black pants.
Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
