A 93-year-old pedestrian was killed by a driver exiting the Ed Koch Queensboro bridge in Long Island City Wednesday morning, according to police.

The woman was crossing Queens Plaza South on May 8 at about 5:25 a.m. when a 40-year-old man, driving a Hyundai Elantra, struck her in the crosswalk while he was exiting the Queensboro Bridge.

Police say EMS arrived at the scene and discovered the woman with severe head trauma. She was declared dead at the scene.

The driver, whose identity has not yet been released, remained on scene.

The investigation by the NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad is preliminary and remains ongoing.
