June 25, 2019 Staff Report
The police have made a quick arrest in busting a Woodside man wanted for trying to abduct a 10-year-old boy near Roosevelt Avenue on Monday.
Sang Lee, 76, of 59th Street in Woodside, allegedly tried to grab the child by the arm and pull him into a building while the victim was walking near Roosevelt Avenue and 59th Street with his parents.
The parents were able to pull their son to safety and he was unharmed.
Lee was charged Tuesday with an “act in a manner injurious to a child” and “unlawful imprisonment.”
Lee’s daughter, however, told PIX11 News that the incident was a big misunderstanding. She reported that her father, who is Korean, does not speak English and has Alzheimer’s or dementia.
