A local man was arrested Sunday for slashing four people outside a bar in Astoria early Sunday morning.
Police said that Valon Ahmetovic, of 23-03 Newtown Ave., got into a verbal argument with four men inside McCaffrey & Burke, an Irish pub located at 28-54 31st St. The dispute escalated outside and Ahmetovic, 30, allegedly slashed the men with a sharp object at around 1 a.m., police said.
The victims, all men in their 30s, were not seriously injured. However, one man was taken to Elmhurst Hospital for lacerations to his face. The others refused medical attention.
Police arrested Ahmetovic on the corner of 31st Avenue and 31st Street at around 2:30 a.m., a NYPD spokesperson said.
He has been charged with four counts of assault, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment.
