The police are looking for a man who robbed nearly $140,000 from a check cashing store in Astoria by pretending he had a gun pointed at an employee.
The 24-year female employee of David’s Check Cashing at 23-05 31 St., was walking along 31 St. at around 8 p.m. on Friday, July 5, when the male suspect approached her from behind.
The man simulated that he had a firearm against her back and forced her to open the establishment.
Once inside, the man pushed the employee to the ground and took $136,000 from the safe, before fleeing in an unknown direction.
