Straphanger Punched in the Face on R Train, Cops Looking for Suspect

Police are looking for a man who punched a subway rider in the face while on board a moving R train last week.

The 44-year old male victim was riding a Manhattan-bound R train toward Queens Plaza Station at around 10:25 p.m. last Thursday when he was punched in the face by an unidentified assailant.

The assailant remained on the train after it reached the next station, while the victim was treated for his injuries on board the train.

The assailant was captured on video by another subway rider and is seen as a bearded black male wearing a black t-shirt and carrying a backpack. He was also seen wheeling a trolley.
