Man Chokes Woman and Steals Purse at 46th Street Station: NYPD

Police are looking for a man who allegedly choked a 64-year-old woman and then stole her purse at the 46th Street subway station in Astoria earlier this week.

The robbery took place at 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 2 on the northbound R platform of the 46th Street station, according to the police.

The victim was standing on the platform alone when she was approached from behind by the suspect and choked to the ground. When she was on the ground, the man stole her purse and fled the station in an unknown direction.

The suspect was observed to be a black man wearing glasses. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, blue shorts and red sneakers.
