A man was robbed at gunpoint last month in a small park in Astoria and now police are looking for the suspect.
On Aug. 16 at 2:30 p.m., a 24-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk near Steinway Street and 31st Avenue when another man approached him. The two talked and walked together to Sean’s Place Park on 38th Street, when the second man suddenly brandished a handgun and demanded the 24-year-old victim’s property, police said.
The victim handed over $84 and his LG cell phone valued at $200 and the unknown man fled with both to Steinway Street where he made a speedy getaway on a bike, according to cops.
The NYPD has released the included video of the suspect.
