83-Year-Old Man Killed By School Bus in Middle Village

An 83-year-old man has died after he was fatally struck by a school bus in Middle Village this morning, according to the NYPD.

Bing Nuan Chen, of 74th Street, was hit by the yellow school bus at the intersection of 67^th Drive and 73^rd Place at 8:37 a.m., police said.

Chen was crossing the street on 67^th Drive at the same that the school bus made a left turn from 73^rd Place onto 67th Drive, resulting in the fatal collision.

EMS teams found the man unconscious and unresponsive and he was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst, where he was pronounced dead.

The 56-year-old female driver remained at the scene and no arrests have been made. The investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD’s Highway Patrol Collision Investigation Squad.
