NYPD Nab Man for Fatal Stabbing Outside East Elmhurst Shelter

Police have arrested a man for the fatal stabbing of a 38-year-old man outside an East Elmhurst homeless shelter earlier this week.

Police arrested 34-year-old Richardo Henry of Brooklyn and charged him with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

The NYPD responded to a call on Nov. 5 at 9:40 p.m. outside The Landing Family Shelter, at 94-00 Ditmars Blvd. and found Henry’s 38-year-old victim unconscious and unresponsive with puncture wounds to his torso.

EMS rushed the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/ Elmhurst, where he was pronounced dead.

The homeless shelter where the victim was found houses 169 families and was converted to a shelter from a hotel in 2015.
