A 43-year-old man was assaulted by a group of men who tried to steal his cell phone at an Astoria subway station last month.
The victim was riding a northbound N train on Feb. 18 when several men approached him and started a dispute at around 11 p.m.
The man got off the train at the Broadway station and the men followed him, police said. The group punched him multiple times in the head and face as they attempted to grab his phone.
The men were unsuccessful and fled the station empty-handed, police said.
Anyone with information in regard to the identities of the males is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
