The police released a photo yesterday of a man who attempted to rob a woman while she was withdrawing money from an ATM in Astoria last month.
The suspect allegedly approached a 24-year-old woman from behind while she was withdrawing money from inside the TD Bank branch at 31-04 Ditmars Blvd at around 10:45 p.m. on Feb. 22. The man simulated he had a gun with his finger and demanded she hand him over $1,000.
The woman did not comply with his demand and the suspect then fled in an unknown direction.
The suspect is described as black, approximately 6 feet tall, with a slim build and being in his early 20s. He was last seen wearing a black jacket.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
