The police released video footage today of an individual wanted for stealing a car near the Astoria Heights Playground in January.
The suspect allegedly stole a 1999 Volvo sedan on Jan. 16 at around 8 p.m. across from 30-39 43rd St., after the owner left her keys in the ignition, according to police.
The 63-year-old victim was leaving food for cats when the thief entered the vehicle and then drove off, police said.
The suspect abandoned the vehicle in front of 41-16 Broadway a short time later.
Police said the suspect was captured on CCTV making a $25 purchase with the victim’s credit card that was left inside the vehicle, at Wendy Wine and Liquor Store, located at 51-13 Broadway, in Woodside.
