Hoping to add some spice to the bland COVID quarantine, a longtime Woodside butcher is offering discounts, waiving delivery fees, and organizing a contest to win a 39-meal package.
Frank Ottomanelli — who operates F. Ottomanelli’s Burgers and Belgian Fries and S. Ottomanelli & Sons Prime Meats and Wild Game at 60-15 Woodside Ave. — is currently offering his Superior Package for $199 even though it’s valued at $239.
Enough for 39 meals, it includes three pounds of chicken cutlets, six pounds of whole or cut chicken, three pounds of pork roast loin, three pounds of beef stew, three pounds of chopped lean sirloin, two pounds of pepper steak, two pounds of center-cut pork chop, two pounds of top-round London broil, and four pounds of pot roast.
This same Superior Package is also the award for Frank’s Feast Photo Contest, which runs through Saturday, April 25. For a chance to win the 39-meal prize, participants simply take photos of home-cooked meals and tag them with @primemeatwildgame on Instagram, @meatottomanelli on Twitter, and @ottomanelliprimemeats on Facebook.
After considering the posts’ “likes” and image quality, he’ll announce the winner before Mother’s Day on May 10.
Frank is also offering discounts on three smaller packages during the COVID pandemic.
• 29-meals-for-$149. Valued at $189, this deal includes two pounds of chicken cutlets, six pounds of whole or cut chicken, one pound of applewood smoked bacon, two pounds of homemade Italian sausage (hot or sweet), three pounds of chopped extra lean sirloin, two pounds of center-cut pork chop, two pounds of top-round London broil, and three pounds of rump roast beef.
• 20-meals-for-$82.99. Valued at $99, this package includes one pound of chicken cutlets, six pounds of whole or cut chicken, two pounds of homemade Italian sausage (hot or sweet), two pounds of chopped extra lean sirloin, two pounds of center-cut pork chop, and two pounds of chuck fillet steak.
• 12-meals-for-$51.99. Valued at $79, it includes one pound of chicken cutlets, three pounds of whole or cut chicken, one pound of homemade Italian sausage (hot or sweet), one pound of chopped extra lean sirloin, and two pounds of London broil.
“We’re cutting our margins across the board on all of our meat packages to give families the extra help they need right now,” said Frank, who’s added free delivery to Woodside, Sunnyside, Long Island City, and Jackson Heights with delivery to other areas via www.mercato.com.
