Six motorcyclists who were riding recklessly near Astoria Park Saturday were nabbed by police and their bikes were confiscated, according to the NYPD.

The riders were spotted in the vicinity of Shore Boulevard and Ditmars Boulevard at around 2:50 p.m. and were pulled over by police. Police discovered that two of the bikes were stolen.

The police took to twitter to let the public know that they had seized the bikes, since Astoria Park is a known trouble spot for dangerous riders and drivers.

Chief of Department Terence Monahan posted a photo of the confiscated motorcycles and warned the public that dangerous riding put the public at risk.

“When the weather is nice, some people think it’s okay to come out and recklessly ride motorcycles, endangering New Yorkers. But, NYPD cops are out too,” Monahan said.

Police said that 19 summonses were issued as part of the operation.

Two people are facing charges related to the stolen motorcycles, according to reports.
