The NYPD is looking for a man who attempted to rob a 50-year-old and 60-year-old man in Ozone Park earlier this month.
On Sunday, Aug. 2, around 4:25 a.m., the unidentified man approached the two men around 97th Avenue and 80th Street, according to police. The man pulled out a gun and demanded that the 50-year-old and the 60-year-old hand over their money, cops said.
The two men lunged at the thief and began to fight for possession of the handgun, according to the NYPD. During the struggle, the man used the gun to hit the 60-year-old, who fell to the ground, fracturing his hip as a result of the fall, according to the police.
The man then ran from the scene and drove off in a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound on 80th Street, the authorities said.
The 60-year-old was taken to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition.
The assailant is described by the police as being around 30 to 40 years old, standing 6 feet, 1 inch tall. He was last seen wearing a mask, a light colored baseball hat, a white sweater, dark colored pants and gray sneakers.
