Man fatally shot in Far Rockaway: NYPD

The NYPD is investigating a shooting that left a man dead in Far Rockaway early Saturday morning.

Police responded to a 911 call regarding the shooting inside of 22-30 Dix Ave. at 6:34 a.m. on Aug. 1. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a 35-year-old man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to his torso.

EMS arrived at the scene and transported the man to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending proper family notification.

There have been no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.

According to amNewYork Metro, police from the 101st Precinct say a Black man who is approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and was last seen wearing white clothing, shorts is being sought in connection with the shooting.
