Smashburger will open its first Elmhurst location in Queens on Wednesday, Sept. 15.

To celebrate the grand opening of new location at 40-35 82nd St., Smashburger is giving the first 200 people that come in their signature Backyard Seasoning with a secret blend of spices to use for grilling at home. The first 100 customers will also receive a swag bag.

In addition to the giveaways, a single classic Smashburger with fries will be only $5 all day on Wednesday. Bacon burgers will be $5 all day on Thursday. Deliveries from Sept. 15 to Sept. 29 will be free.

Carl Bachmann, the president of Smashburger, said Elmhurst and nearby Jackson Heights felt like a perfect location for their restaurant.

“The Jackson Heights neighborhood is a melting pot of cuisine and culture offering some of the most diverse offerings from Asia, South America and beyond,” Backmann said. “Residents should not have to leave their neighborhood for a quality burger which is why we are so thrilled to be bringing our menu variety to Queens.”

The menu features the restaurant’s signature Angus beef burgers smashed in the open kitchen, which customers can easily view in line. Smashburger also has chicken sandwiches, turkey and black bean burgers and fresh salads. Sides include Brussels sprouts and rosemary, garlic and olive oil fries.
