Knife-wielding man sought in Kew Gardens subway slashing: NYPD

An F train rider was repeatedly slashed as he stood on the platform during an armed robbery inside the Union Turnpike subway station in Kew Gardens during the Aug. 17 morning rush hour, according to the NYPD.

Police from the 112th Precinct and Transit District 20 are looking for a man who approached the 26-year-old victim as he waited for his train and allegedly slashed him multiple times in the face, arm, and back with a knife and forcibly took his cellphone, before exiting the subway station and running off in an unknown direction, according to authorities.

EMS responded to the crime scene and transported the victim to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in stable condition.

The NYPD released surveillance photos of the suspect on Aug. 18, one of which shows the suspect on the station platform.

He has a medium complexion and was wearing a light-colored Adidas T-shirt, blue or gray jeans, a dark baseball cap and a backpack.
