Cord Meyer Development Company will be serving as the premiere sponsor for Friends of Crocheron and John Golden Park for the second consecutive year. The continued sponsorship was announced by Friends of Crocheron and John Golden Park Founder and President Jessica Burke and Cord Meyer Vice President and Bay Terrace Project Lead Joe Forgione during Cord Meyer Cleanup Day at Crocheron Park on May 6.

Friends of Crocheron Park is a not-for-profit organization working alongside New York City Parks to advocate for improvements to the 63-acre park at 214th Street and 35th Avenue in Bayside. The initial sponsorship was formed last spring, when Cord Meyer Development approached Friends of Crocheron and John Golden Park on the matter. In response, Friends of Crocheron and John Golden Park created a premiere sponsorship package to match the commitment level Cord Meyer was interested in providing.

“Everyone in our organization is thrilled that Cord Meyer has again stepped up as our premier sponsor,” Burke said. “While Friends of Crocheron and John Golden Park works closely with NYC Parks, we are a volunteer-run organization that depends on outside funding to accomplish our many goals. It was a pleasure working with Cord Meyer in 2022 and we look forward to continuing that rewarding relationship throughout 2023.”

Cord Meyer’s partnership with Friends of Crocheron and John Golden Park has proved beneficial for the nonprofit’s monthly service events. Cord Meyer has also expanded the reach of its historic archives and enabled Friends of Crocheron and John Golden Park to thank volunteers with T-shirts and other items.

“Cord Meyer Development is committed to supporting nonprofits in Bayside, Bay Terrace and the surrounding communities,” Forgione said. “We also have a history of supporting local parks that dates back more than 75 years. Working with Jessica and her group is a pleasure and
an honor. We have enjoyed when Jessica and representatives of Friends of Crocheron Park are able to attend our events at the Bay Terrace Shopping Center and we look forward to sponsoring some exciting events this summer at Crocheron Park. It’s a great relationship between the two main meeting places for the neighborhood. Historically, Crocheron Park and the Bay Terrace Shopping Center are destinations where the entire community comes together.”
