St. Mary’s annual “Monster Mash” returned to Bayside this past Sunday, Oct. 15, offering fun fall-themed activities for the whole family.
The event returned to the parking lot of St. Mary’s Children’s Hospital last year after a pandemic hiatus. Last year they raised over $25,000 and this year they are on track to surpass that.
“We are thrilled to be able to welcome the St. Mary’s community to campus for our annual Monster Mash event, which brings joy, family fun and fall festivities to some of our youngest patients,” said Dr. Edwin Simpser, president and CEO of St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children. “We’d like to extend a huge thank you to our event sponsors and participants, your support for philanthropic events is vital in helping St. Mary’s to continue providing life-saving care to New York’s sickest children and their families.”
The outdoor event featured food, games, a costume contest, parade and face painting. Kids also had the opportunity to “trunk or treat” out of a range of spookily decorated car trunks ahead of Halloween. And jazz fans enjoyed a live performance from the NYPD’s jazz band.
