A Bronx man was arrested on Thursday, Dec. 7 and booked at the 107th Precinct in Fresh Meadows where he was charged with grand larceny for allegedly picking a man’s pocket inside a Briarwood subway station last month.
Kevin Washington, 19, of Daly Avenue in the Bronx Park South section, worked in concert with a woman inside the Van Wyck Boulevard-Briarwood subway station when they approached a 36-year-old man and removed his wallet from his pocket, police said. The duo ran out of the station and onto Queens Boulevard and were last seen walking westbound on 84th Drive. The victim was not injured during the incident and Washington’s partner remains at large.
Police are still searching for the woman. The NYPD described her as having a dark complexion and medium build. She wore a black jacket, black ripped jeans and red sneakers.

Through Dec. 10, the 107th Precinct has reported 588 grand larcenies so far this year, 35 fewer than the 623 reported at the same point last year, a decline of 5.6%, according to the most recent CompStat report.
