Police from the 103rd Precinct in Jamaica are still looking for a gunman who shot and wounded two 16-year-old boys in broad daylight during the afternoon of Monday, Jan. 8.
The two teenagers were in front of a home at 87-80 153rd St., just a block south of Hillside Avenue in Jamaica Hills at around 2:30 p.m. when a stranger approached and discharged a firearm. One of the teens was struck in the shoulder and the second boy was shot once in the foot. The gunman ran off in an unknown direction and remains at large more than a week later, according to an NYPD spokesman. EMS responded to the scene and rushed the victims to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center where they were listed in stable condition, police said.
The NYPD released a surveillance photo of the suspect in the assault investigation and described him as having a medium complexion who was last seen wearing a dark winter jacket over a black hooded sweatshirt. A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to his arrest.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website, on Twitter @NYPDTips.
