A Southeast Queens man was killed when he crashed into a tractor trailer in Jamaica on Monday morning.

Ray Holman, 67, of 220th Street in Brookville, was behind the wheel of a maroon 2015 Infiniti QX8 SUV traveling southbound on the Van Wyck Expressway when he struck a 2016 International 18-wheeler that was also traveling southbound, police said. The incident took place near the Linden Boulevard exit shortly after 10:35 a.m.

Holman, according to the NYPD, drove into the back of the rig, on the driver’s side, and then swerved into the right lane where he smashed into a 2015 Jeep Cherokee that was parked by the side of the roadway with a 61-year-old man inside before crashing into a guardrail.

EMS responded to the scene and rushed Holman to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short while later.

The 44-year-old man who was driving the tractor trailer declined medical attention, while the driver of the Jeep Cherokee was transported by EMS to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition, police said.

There have been no arrests and the investigation by the NYPD’s Highway District Collision Investigation Squad remains ongoing.
