The Queens Borough President’s office is hosting an immigrant resource fair on Saturday Mar. 30 at the Renaissance Charter School, located at 39-59 81st St. in Jackson Heights.
The event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and have an array of services for attendees, including information on free tax prep, free or low cost health insurance, financial management and more. City agencies and nonprofits such as the Mayor’s Public Engagement Unit, NYC Commission on Gender Equality, LiveOnNY and Make the Road New York have cosponsored the event.
There will also be a pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinic and clothing donation giveaway for attendees.
Staffers from the borough president’s office’s Immigrant Welcome Center will be on hand to assist those who speak Spanish, French, Hindi and Bangla. Event partner Minority Empowerment Network, a Nepali community group, will also have volunteers on site to speak with Nepali community members.
The borough president’s office frequently hosts immigrant resource fairs, including one on Mar. 2 that featured similar services. The events usually draw large crowds of hundreds of people.
